Event design is constantly changing and evolving from year to year. Every couple is different and comes with their own set of unique needs that challenges designers to try new things and push trends forward – it’s what makes this business so rewarding! Let’s take a look at some of the trends we’ve seen over the last year and are looking forward to seeing in 2017.
While barns, burlap, and rustic weddings haven’t completely left the scene, we are seeing most couples head in a more glamorous direction. Luxurious color schemes like creams, golds, silver, and other metallics are making a statement, along with inundating spaces with candles to create an intimate and romantic feeling for guests.
Gone are the days of couples picking two colors and coordinating their entire wedding around them. Now we are seeing more mismatching – from different bridesmaid dresses to untraditional stationery, brides and grooms are really thinking outside of the box! Consider using five or six shades of a color in the design. It will add a level of richness and depth to the event!
Weddings are taking a turn toward nature with couples opting for bold greenery and wooden decor to create a forest feel. This is a perfect opportunity to explore a neutral color palette by accenting wooden decor with beige or cream linens, metallic details, and elegant white candles. If linens are not ideal, consider using big farm tables that will tie in with the wooden décor and are beautiful all on their own!
Color, Color, Color
We’re seeing couples choose every color under the rainbow – literally! More than ever, bold hues can be found in bouquets, centerpieces, and fashion with jewel tones and vibrant colors catching the eye of brides and grooms everywhere. Keep those linens and chairs a neutral white to ensure each color pops and catches the attention of everyone.
The most important thing to remember is to have fun with design, since it’s meant to be unique and reflect the vision of the event. Be sure to keep in mind that every detail should be personalized to the couple. The last thing they want is for their wedding to look like anyone else’s!
